Trying this recipe right now. Crockpot rotisserie chicken

I'll let you know how it turns out, still have a couple of hours to go, the only thing I did different is instead of foil I wrapped some large russet potatoes in foil and then placed the chicken over them, we'll see how it goes. :)

recipe here

Quote:
Ingredients:

5lb whole chicken
seasonings of choice, I used paprika for color and a Chicago style seasoning blend (I also add some extra salt and cracked black pepper)

Directions:

Rinse the chicken, discarding insides, and pat dry.
Season heavily inside and out.
Crush 4 sheets of aluminum foil into balls and place at the bottom of your Crock-Pot.
Place the whole chicken on top.
Cover and cook on high for 4.5 hours.
Remove to a cutting board and slice.

Well it did turn out really yummy, however it took about twice as longer than it said it would, the potatoes were good, not with a crispy jacket like if they were baked but still good..I don't know if it was my slow cooker that was the problem or if it just needed more time because of the potatoes, either way it did turn out good just longer..I would do it again but plan on starting it earlier or the night before. I just used pepper, garlic salt and a steak seasoning, you could probably use Lawry's seasoning salt or whatever you have to flavor up meat. :) I liked the fact that you could just set it and forget it but if I don't have to run out the door I think I'll stick to my beer can chicken. :)
